NFL Global Junior Championship SCOREs with SportStat Wireless Technology
SportStat's patented SCORE (Statistics Created Online Real-time Everywhere) technology provided coaches and parents of the world's top 180 teenage football players access to real-time play-by- play video during the NFL Global Junior Championship held in metro Detroit at the Pontiac Silverdome the week of Jan 22 - 29. SportStat is a Detroit-based sports technology company founded by technology developer and CEO Johnny Richardson and former Detroit Lions All-Pro receiver Herman Moore, SportStat president and COO, who also served as honorary chairman of the event.
"We were delighted that fans of the NFL Global Junior Championship were able to follow the games through SCORE technology," said tournament organizer Patrick Steenberge. "The ability to watch the most exciting plays via a cell phone was the perfect complement to the other forms of live streaming we were able to provide from the Silverdome.
"The nature of our event means that families from five different countries and three continents take an avid interest in the action. That can now be transferred from the field to their phone or PDA thanks to SCORE."
The NFL Global Junior Championship is an annual event played in the Super Bowl host city and showcases 180 of the top teenage football players from around the world during Super Bowl week. The All-Stars participating in the event hailed from Canada, Germany, Japan, Mexico and the U.S.A.
SportStat's SCORE wireless technology application package provides coaches, scouts, parents, schools, students, alumni and sports enthusiasts with the ability to capture and access real-time play-by-play video and information from games at the professional, college, high school or league level. "We're pleased with the success of SCORE in the NFL Global Junior Championship and are looking forward to the results the technology will yield in the upcoming Southwestern Athletic Conference's basketball tournament," said Johnny Richardson, developer of the SCORE technology.
